I realized too late it was you that I loved
Like I was thrown in water and finally woke up.
It gave me such energy to scream and shout
But the fire that began scorching was quickly put out.
In the arms of another which caused me great grief
It took me a while to find some relief.
Haunting my dreams, a slave to my thoughts
I tried hard to forget you, but I simply could not.
My soul still connected, but I leave you be
Cause it makes me so happy to see you in peace.
Though wobbly I stand, like a pillar in sand
I now steer the ship that I left unmanned.
And every morning as dawn shows her rose-red tips
I still wait at my dock in hopes for your ship.
