The Avalanche

Through the icy blizzard
I walked all night
couldn't see a thing
the stars out of sight.
Moving without a purpose
my muscles become tight,
I look to the moon
my only source of ligt
she's guiding my steps
shining oh so bright.
Cold and alone
I only see white,
I might not make it out
my eyes shut in fright.
Scrambling for shelter
or a place to set up site
I find a little cave
that saves me for tonight.
"This place is a miracle
but something isn't right"
I examine it's walls
their length and height
and see some bats
taking off in flight
I think and think
of a prayer to recite
but my mind is blank
my memory swiped
The cave rumbles loudly
and I stand upright
staring into the mouth
scared for my life.
I chose to be brave
to stay and fight.
I charge and scream
like a midevil knight
deep into the cave
that's dark as nite,
But little do I know
my exit's shut tight.
Snow fell from the mountain
when it shook with might...
