Out of Sync

Tears slowly flowing
down his cheek
they sit there in silence
no need to speak.
He grabs her hand 
but it's cold and bleak
he feels her fading
and starts to freak.
They're on new paths
no longer in sync
she touches his face
but his memory blinks
and as she goes 
his knees fall weak
never looking back 
she's light on her feet.
On the outside she's calm
but inside she screams
it happened so fast
both in disbelief.
